Hmm.... CNY (Chinese New Year) has come and gone. A far cry from the days when myself and my cousins and other relatives enjoyed a relatively noisy do as compared to the CNY of today.
I think it was partly due to my grand parents insisting on sticking to traditions. Now my parents have become grand parents themselves, they are taking up the mantle and ensuring that we do not lose our link to our past and also relatives in Johor and overseas.
So here we are, with our small do in Muar. Juliette had lovely fun meeting her aunts and what not since its her first CNY.
First we headed to the temple to pay our respects to our grand parents and wished them a Happy Chinese New Year. (Forgot to take pictures)
Then we spent sometime in the coffee shop with Jiao Yin and her husband Kuok Min, we had some tit bits there and rested there for awhile before going over to my Grand Aunt's home.
Whilst waiting for Uncle Paul to arrive we decided to horse around at my Grand Aunt's home and had some tea whilst waiting for him to arrive. Dad went to wash his car and we rest some more over and chatted over some tea.
Then we headed off to lunch in my grand father's favourite restaurant Restaurant Stars near Taman Sakeh. The food quality has dropped tremendously over the years although their business premises has increased in size.
Oh well it was a fun trip nevertheless a tired one for me since it was a day trip.
Here are some videos too...
