Sawasde Thai Kitchen and Cafe

I brought my wife, mom-in-law and baby to Summit USJ, we were gonna have dinner but was open to suggestions.

We decided to try Sawasde Restaurant at the lower ground main entrace of The Summit USJ. The place looks ok....more towards a bar concept.

Looks very cosy and had a few family diners in at the same time we entered.

The waitress did not speak fluent english as there was a mix up of wat we had ordered but she was friendly and nice...sorts of makes up for it i guess.

The food was nice BUT it was served cold except for the fish as it had its own charcoaled tray. The fish was excellent and very appetizing. The vegetables were so so....nothing much to shout about.

We also had 3 other vegetable dishes, but it was so so and the portion for 3 persons is not reasonable. I mean i ain't asking for huge portions but its like Fusion Food size to me ! heheh !

The service however was horrible....they had the staff and manpower but the service was horrible IMHO.

That goes to show, some reviews in the dailies are not to be trusted.

On a more happier note, baby was having fun and my wife and mom-in-law were enjoying the trip out to stretch their legs.

Does she look like me other than the botak similarities...

Here are some additional pictures for Fon, Rapheal and Natasha to see how much Juliette has progressed. :)

Juliette Update Version 2

This is Juliette 4 months and 22 days old. Very cheeky and using the Bumbo seat which we got from Angela and Sudha earlier (thanks guys..)

Very cheeky, has a sharp scream and very very very very adorable !!! yay !

We love ya !

Nyonya Dumplings

I bought some nyonya dumplings from Melaka over the weekend. I love them,
better than normal dumplings IMHO.

They have this fillings that are full of spices and the blue tinge over the glutinous
rice is excellent.

At RM 3.80 per dumpling, it may sound pricey but i think it is worth every cent as it is huge.

I got it over at Ujong Pasir, near a Kopitiam at a corner of a T-Junction approximately 10 to 50 meters from the Ujong Pasir Petronas Station.

Nice....even "Tar Pau-ed" for my mom. :)

Fei Loh Hokkien Mee

There i was, hungry and trying to diet and my boss said "Come let's go try this hokkien mee in SS2 !", i was like "Oh no...!"

They had a set lunch and we went for it....i decided on Mee and Bee Hoon for the Hokkien mee and waited. The service was bad....they bungled up my order with someone else and i had to wait like mad.

The environment is clean and nice....not much decor but very quaint.

The table was old skool wood like a canteen bench and the condiments such as the chillies were very well and clean kept. I liked the place.

Here u can see my portion which is quiet huge u know ! YUMMMMY !!

Esquire Kitchen

I went to Esquire Kitchen today with some new found friends. D3mon, LadyCyrene and |Ghost|. Since i am one of the new kids on the block i
tot i'd buy them lunch.

It was a simple lunch with some idle banters that made me laff a lot.

Kung Pou Kai DING a Ling !
Tofu !
Chicken !
Long Beans !

Not bad hehehe !

Had fun meeting u guys ! Cheers and thumbs up for #30something !

Break Fast !

Today i had a simple break fast of chinese tea, and economy noodles....

Haih...wat a start to the day ! GAN BA TEH !

Bak Kut Teh In 1 Utama ?

My wife, dotter and myself went to 1 Utama to buy a thermo pot from Jusco. Why ? Coz the branch in Klang Bukit Raja went out of stock.

The choices in 1 U were more compared to the latter. SO anyways, we were hungry and Juliette was asleep so we faster looked for something to eat....u know...when it comes to things like dat i am so afraid.

U see....my wife got this "piak" when it comes to food, she'd say i wanna try something new but ENDS up eating something we can cook at home. LOL !

We went to this "Bak Kut Teh" shop in the old wing and ended up eating Sambal Pork (new), Curry Chicken and Steamed Lettuce....same old same old....

The food was ok....rice portion were huge....i always make this mistake of eating 1st b4 i take pictures....dumb hor ! hahahah ! oh well, i was hungwee and Juliette was asleep so we better hustle and eat fast fast !

Pricey but ok la....my boss said that this restaurant is quite good and has loads of branches. Maybe u should try it out....

Ah Cheng Laksa

Dudes....

Dudes....i got to tell you of a nice place to makan Laksa. It's in Summit USJ Lower Ground at a small stall in between of Mc Donalds and Cold Storage.

It's been there for sometime and has a branch at The Curve (but it suxors there). Might be due to the cook or something i dunno but its better in Summit.

A normal bowl will cost you RM 4.90 only. Nice tangy soup, just nice portion and loads of "Har Kou" if you like. They got curry laksa, and other condiments like "si ham", "sotong" and others but normal is the best.

They are served with "Pop ikan", some sort of fish crackers in strips....nice and light.

Ahhhhh..................................simply shiok ! Test for you self and lemme know !

VR 4 Rojak

Hmm....been abt 3 weeks since i saw Leong last. The fella was bz with work and i was bz with my family.

Neeways...he needed a ride to KLIA since he is going to Cambodia. So i had to babysit his VR4 for 4 days.

Now his car, is really a sight to behold. It is one of the most DIRTIEST and UGLIEST car i have ever seen ! BUT, it has one unique twist to it as an attraction.

The fella managed to mate a VR4 engine and Mistubishi Evolution 2 engine to become a hybrid combo. The car is really really powerfull even running at only 0.73 boost.

The E.C.U is running on Evo 1's ECU and seems to be working well. I noticed that the response is near-instantaneous. Power at the lower end is very noticeable. The gearbox is more smoother, no more rough jerking when swapping gears on the fly. Clutch cable is firm but can be tiring in traffic.

His combo of Bilstein shocks for the front and Ralliart for the rear is super hard and my fats are jumping around when i whack abt 160 to 180 km/h on the KLIA stretch. Ughh....my chest still feels the vibrations.

Usually when the fella ask me to babysit the car HE KNOWS i can't stand dirty cars so i proceeded to wash it la....mana tau kena con RM 20.00 just for a wash.

It was clean lar...but RM 20.00 wahh seh.....

Still its got real raw power and can take a lot of cars on the road.

ONLY Problem is how it looks....to some pple its plain ugly ! To me , Leong and Justin its a monsta ! hahahaha

It grows on you !

Uncle Christy

My wife's elder brother came to visit his niece and stopped by for dinner at the same time.

I was cooking fish curry (pictures to be uploaded later), we had brinjal, ladies fingers, french long beans, some fried "fuu chuk", tomatoes, onions, fishballs, and also fish.

I had to simmer the paste and then add water, later the ingredient, i guess the fish was to be
added last, as the fish became very soft in the later part. So soft that a small amount of pushing would have broken it to pieces. Lesson learned hahaha !

Anways, Christy brought some sotong sambal and beef rendang over, not to mention the Pineapple curry in lemak, i think thats what it's called la...

So we had a nice simple dinner followed by Juliette entertaining Christy :)

Juliette Update

This is my daughter, Juliette, full of energy, life and 1 heck of scream that can pierce your sleep ensuring total black eyed effects around you for next 1 year or so....hehe

My dotter is growing up before my eyes...i know it might
sound emotional, but i can't help it. She turned me into a bowl of mush whenever i hold her.

Sometime ago, i sat at the porch staring at a toy bike that we have ready for her
and i can really see (i'm serius...or maybe u can just say imagine la...) her walking around and riding the bike waving at me and her mom and laughing crazily like her "siao" dad...

Then last Sunday, only me and her were in the car waiting for the Church service to end for my wife and her parents.
Both of us were in the car earlier coz it seemed like its gonna rain again after a heavy shower, so i preferred her to be shielded from the elements.

She was accommodating me to a few photo shots.........hahahaha

There's so much i wanna wish for her that i am short of being obsessed with my kid...i dunno, maybe it the untold love we have for our offspring that makes us mad at times.
I dunno what the future holds for her but me and wife hope to be holding her hands through it...

Some small shots...

Here she is getting her first hair cut...hahaha her grandma failed at the cut so i had to use my shaver to rectify it later...
