Raphael's place

We were helping to prepare for Raphael, Fon and Natasha to come back to Malaysia. So we all helped to clean up the place as they will be in a rush to move back all their stuff in Singapore back to Malaysia.

The place is Damansara Ken II, Raphael and Fon, chose the place because it was value for money and the surrounding amenities and area was good.

Whilst helping to spruce up the place Juliette was having some fun in the pool and all over the house.

Here are some pictures.

Size does matter....

For the past week my mom in law dropped by in preparations for CNY next week. Since then i had to drive her Kelisa to work and back....

Man....i feel so confined in the car hahahahahahahaha....

Me left thigh are so near the gear shift and the door is so near my right is stuck to the door on the right.

Have you ever been thankfull ?

You know....i was driving home one day with my family in tow and i am just amazed by the fact that we as humans should be really thank full with what we have in life.

What with all the human strife going on, the wars and super power races between the 1st world countries. I think we're just losing sight of the bigger picture of life.

Sometimes i feel that we're losing our humanity with all the protests, the killing of the innocents, and the vices we human do. Then i realize that i need to get back to work and just like millions of others get our meagre pay to get on with life.

Anyway....just for today i managed to take a shot of the sky, it was beautiful and it made me wonder a little about our religion and our relationship with god.

I am not a religious or devout Buddhist nor am i a Catholic. I attend church with my other half every week, as a promise to her when we married. One hour out of a week for each week of my life ain't hard.

Sermons from the Church makes sense if you really sit down and really focus on what the priest preaching about.

I dunno....maybe its just my way of pondering and taking time out to think of faith i guess.

Here's the picture i caught whilst driving (pls dun do this if ure not a pro....heheh)

Makan Makan at Sheraton Subang

I got a voucher for the Italian Terazzo at Sheraton Subang, i decided to convert the 2 free meal for two to the Buffet selection. Boy was i lucky to do that. It was pouring so i had to park in the under ground parking i was lucky to get a great parking next to the door entrance to the lobby.

We arrived early at 6 to 7-nish and promptly chose a place to sit. The promotion on was SEAFOOD ! Wow....i forgot to take some picture as i was busy eating man ! The restaurant is located at the lower ground, there were quite a huge selection there. They had mini lobsters, mussels, oysters, smoked salmon and the works....was so so so good.

I can make my own won ton noodle soup, the broccoli cream soup was very nice, the breads and sushi were ok...., but the main course seafood was good.
They also had the usual fare of meat too..

Haih....but its RM 76 per head man ! Lucky i only need to pay for 2 since free 2 mah hehehe

Dad and mom were enjoying themselves so was Jasmin and Juliette....this is my second impromptu family shot ! Mom had a great time with the desserts too, dad was busy with the Pasembur and also salads and breads. Jasmin was heading for the mini lobsters only hahahah ! Juliette? Only water lo...still small ma.... ! :P

Acer Aspire 4520 and Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon

Ok...so i just managed to "Finally" install Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon on to my Acer Aspire 4520 Lappie.

Few months back, when i got my laptop in Sept'07 i could not install it in, it seems there were some driver issues that were not iron-ed out and which version to use.

So last week i downloaded the Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon 64-bit AMD version and installed it via the safe graphic mode.

After that i proceeded to follow the instructions laid out by this guy Elf.

Link = http://oedha.blogspot.com/2007/11/acer-aspire-4520-tried-to-kill-me2.html

After that i had to do a little tweaking a bit on the wifi to get it working.

Instead of the instructions there, i had to download wicd, acer-acpi and also acerwificontroller.

There is a difference though, with the Ubuntu 7.04 it will be hard to get the stuff via repositories, but with the 7.10 it was easy as pie.

So after that, i could use all the features and also the multimedia capabilities of the laptop.

Initially i used wifi-radar and it did not worked with WPA2, only WEP. With the wicd i could get the WPA2 to work altogether.

The informations from the link above were excellent though.

I got it decorated with ubuntu studio themes and all was good.

Typing this out using it :)

Verifying Your Emails

I was doing an email and i wasn't sure if the guys email was working. So i googled around for away to verify if the email was working.

Well what do you know ? I stumbled on to this site. What it does is to verify any email and send a status check to the mail server and check whether the domain exists.

Real nifty to me :)

Do check it out some time !

Bukit Tinggi AEON Jusco

This place is HUGE !

There are even floors not occupied yet.

BUT it is so very very far, going tru the Klang town to get to the place is murder, whilst using the KESAS is great, it costs you RM 2.20 just to get there. This is not inclusive of the toll you must add to get onto KESAS in the first place.

Security looks quite good and the place was quite filled with people, mainly at the ground level at the supermarket section of Jusco.

The place is beautifull, and huge, the parking is big, but charges hourly.....very expensive.

There are alot of Restaurants and niche shops.

Good to comes once and thats it for me. I think its gonna server the area surrounding Bukit Tinggi and not for those in outer skirts of Klang or Pee Jay.

Juliette got her first machine coin-op ride of her life too....heheheh its on Thomas the little engine.

Took some xmassy pictures too....with grand pa

Dr. Fish Spa

Ok....during our Xmas break last week. We decided to try out this new form of cleansing and de-stressing of our weary bodies due to a certain small typhoon, namely Hurrican Juliette.

So off we went to try this place call Dr. Fish Spa. Weird name rite? Even more so, to actually clean your body, you are served as fish food to hundreds of fish. Hehehe....i kid you not.

Here's the low down. For RM 40.00 we are served as fish bait for 1 hour in a pool which can sit about 4 comfortably.

The fish are suppose to be from Turkey and they are toothless, so they suck all the dead skin off of your body....cool eh heheheh !

For more information on the fish go here.

Here is a short summary from the link above.

It seems that Doctor fish is the name given to two species of fish: Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. Other nicknames include nibble fish, kangal fish, and doctorfishen; in non-medical contexts, Garra rufa is called the reddish log sucker. They live and breed in the outdoor pools of some Turkish spas, where they feed on the skin of patients with psoriasis. The fish are like combfishes in that they only consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow, with the outdoor location of the treatment bringing beneficial effects. The spas are not meant as a treatment option, only as a temporary cure for symptoms, and patients usually revisit the spas every few months.

So we went in and had our selves "Cleansed" as per se.

It was a very "Geli" or ticklish for my wife but for me....its kinda weird. The fishes were bigger than the wikipedia's version. My only gripe is the damn thing keeps aiming for my nipples ! hahahhahaha....

All in all it was an eye opener for me. They say there is a similar operations in Pavilion KL but only for the feet. Here in Melaka, the Dr. Fish Spa goes all the way.

Godparents Xmas Do

Juliette also celebrated her first Xmas with her God parents ! Yay !

Karen and Felix were so kind to invite us over and offered us good food and a simple
and cosy time to rest our weary bodies as they entertained their god daughter.

Here are some pictures of the small and cosy do... thanks alot and merry xmas guys.

They provided us with good food and great company. Safe to say they are the best god parents
Jasmin and I could ever wish for our daughter.

God bless them and we hope 2008 brings them much joy and happiness.

:)
